Welcome! I’m Shaina, a freelance illustrator based in the UK, specialising in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and live event illustration.

Since I can remember, I’ve always loved working with watercolours, inspired by the many hours spent recreating my mum’s paintings when I was younger. Overtime, I’ve developed my own way of working, often combining watercolour with black Indian ink and digital refinement to explore the creative possibilities between traditional and contemporary techniques. I like to think of my work as chic, expressive and imperfectly perfect.

With a big imagination and an intuitive approach, my work is often guided by instinct and the creative ideas I feel lucky to receive and bring to life. I’m naturally curious, and I find inspiration everywhere - from beauty, nature, fashion and travel, to the small, ordinary moments of everyday life.

 

I’m always experimenting too, recently exploring mural work, coloured pencils and collage work, which have opened up new ways of working and thinking creatively.

Working as a live event illustrator, capturing people and special occasions in real time at weddings, brand and private events, has further shaped my practice. I often work in an inky, expressive style that reflects the person, atmosphere, and emotion of the moment.
