Welcome to live event illustration by me, Shaina Bains!
Using my signature fashion illustration style, I bring events to life by capturing guests in a way that feels both personal and exciting. From in-store VIP experiences and PR launches to weddings, private and corporate events, I’ve had the pleasure of illustrating for a wide range of brands and clients across all.
Live illustration is truly a unique experience. A traditional yet contemporary way to capture those special moments. A guaranteed way to spark genuine joy.
THE LIVE ILLUSTRATION EXPERIENCE
Using my all-time favourite mediums, watercolour paints and black Indian ink - I enter what I call my flow state, allowing me to capture your guests in a flattering, painterly style that’s become a client favourite.
Each sketch, whether a portrait or full-body illustration, takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, ensuring your guests leave with a one-of-a-kind artwork and a special memento of the day.
I typically work on A6 or A5-sized portraits on high-quality card, though I’m happy to adjust depending on client requirements. For branded events, clients usually provide branded card and envelopes, which I’m happy to use. I’m also glad to advise on sizing and any other queries you may have . A custom stamp can also be provided on request.
LUXURY MOMENTS
Throughout the years and particularly within the luxury space, I’ve experienced how live illustration offers a quiet, intimate moment within the pop-up or event itself. Guests are able to sit, watch their portrait unfold and leave with a bespoke keepsake to treasure (it’s especially lovely when guests excitedly tell me how they plan to frame their portraits!).
Aside from capturing people, I can illustrate a wide range of subjects - from products and fashion pieces to food, drinks, and scenery. I’m also able to draw and paint on most surfaces, including cosmetic packaging, perfume bottles, and canvas. The possibilities are endless, and I love it when clients bring me their creative ideas to bring to life.

WEDDINGS
While I originally began live illustrating for brands, I started receiving requests for weddings and have since found myself immersed in the wedding world over the past few years. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some incredibly lovely couples, in stunning venues, and even travel and base myself in Greece for destination weddings. It’s truly been an honour to have been invited to be part of so many special days.

HOW IT WORKS
Once I arrive and set up, I take a quick photo of your guests ready to illustrate as the event unfolds. Each A6 portrait takes roughly 8-10 minutes per person, depending on size and detail.
Live illustration is a unique form of entertainment, and guests are welcome to watch, chat, and enjoy the process while I work. Once the final touches are added, guests can collect their beautifully packaged portraits before leaving the event.
Most portraits feature 1-2 people, with the exception of babies or small children for family portraits.
DESTINATION WEDDINGS
Exciting news! Live fashion illustration is now available for weddings and events worldwide. Over the past two years, I’ve had the pleasure of illustrating at some truly breathtaking destination weddings in Athens - capturing guests’ unique outfits and personalities in my signature fashion illustration style.
Destination wedding bookings are based on availability, with travel and accommodation expenses covered by the client.
